Our Client

Markets, sells and manages various timeshare and permanent ownership resorts.  They have resorts in Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Florida at this time.  All resorts are connected to the corporate office and IT functions are centralized.  They have 2 remote call centers in the D/FW area and two small call centers in their corporate office. The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a development manager to manage a fast paced team of 11 developers.  This is a highly visible position and will be working face to face with Director level executives.  The ideal candidate will have strong development experience on the IBM AS400 primarily with RPG III and ILE. Strong consideration will be given to those candidates with Websphere and .Net experience.

The development manager will be responsible for the following items:

• Supervising all system development work whether in-house or contract/outsourced
• Evaluating packaged software for company use
• Tracking all development projects and ensuring design standards are followed
• Setting strategic direction for development projects
• Hands on development work up to 50% of the time
• Managing a staff of 10 employees 
• Provide project updates and presentations on development work

Requirements

Candidate must have the following experience:

• At least 7 years of development experience and at least 4 years of management experience in development
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Extensive AS400 development experience using RPG
• Experience with Websphere, website development, VB.net and MS SQL server is also desired.

The candidate must be willing and able to work in a fast paced business environment that requires efficient and creative solutions to business needs.  The candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and evaluate project change impacts to development schedules.
